Been a while since I was last on here! Quite a lot has happened since the last post... including graduating SOTW, moving house, struggling to pay for even a loaf of bread, almost moving 200 miles, a relationship, being rejected for jobs, walking out of a 'job', getting a tan, dyeing my hair, shaving my beard off (NEVER AGAIN) aaand lots of fun other stuff. The most fun things being to do with drums. Exciting.
But, the reason for this post is to tell you about some CRAAAZEH experience me and my friend Holly had in the car driving home one night.
Story time:
Me, Holly and Tony were in my car one night, and we pulled over to drop Tony off at the side of the road at the bus stop. He got out, Holly jumped into the front seat and we set off. About 10 seconds after we set off Holly got a phone call from Tony, which was pretty much Tony saying that God had told him there was an idiot on the road that night, something stupid was gonna happen, like someone walk out or jump a red light... things like that. So, upon hearing that I entered serious HIGH ALERT driving mode, slowing down and watching EVERYTHING that moves.
Now, for some reason or other, our journey home was going to take a lot longer, having to back-track and head back to where we came from to then drive back past where we were to get where we wanted to go... in other words, we had to drive for a while to get back knowing about this word Tony had brought... I felt uneasy to say the least. I like and need my car.
We were just casually driving down a road, windows open, Rascal Flatt's life is a highway playing, enjoying the cool breeze from the ridonkulously hot day when out of nowhere my car acted funny... it slowed down, it became heavy to drive (those who drive will understand what I mean), and it took a lot of gas to make it get up to speed... it was acting as though something VERY heavy was in my car, or on it. Then... I got shivers and goosebumps all over, there is only one time that happens, and thats when something supernatural is going on...
I paused for a second and God just told me "Sam, there's an angel on your roof." I then turned to Holly and said "Holly, I think there's an angel on my roof..." she replied with "I think you're right... i feel it!". Hoooold on. There's an angel on my roof... on my lil' red Nissan Micra, there is an angel... riiiight...
We both felt it. I'm the kind of guy to not be easily persuaded by things I can't see, so when it comes to the supernatural I'm quite thorough to see if its all legit. This was legit. God then gave me a vision of this angel... He was a biiiiig dude. Kneeling with one knee on my roof, one leg at the front of my car, one arm holding just at the top of my windscreen and the other maintaining balance... poised, ready for action. He was protecting us.
We pulled up at Beth's house to grab a key for holly's flat (long story) and the angel then relaxed to a cross legged position on my roof, until we began driving again and then resumed the 'ready for action' position. This angel was serious about our protection. We got back to Holly's flat, spent a couple hours there with Katherine and Lloyd, and then me and Lloyd set off back to my flat... we got down to my car in the carpark at Holly's flat, and the angel was there, waiting for us.
He stayed on my roof until I had made it back to my flat and I had finished driving for the night... God sent one of his angels to look after his children until we were all home and safe in bed. If that's not a fathers heart, I don't know what is.
Saaaaam =]
